Want the weather told like it is, without annoying weathermen inserting weird jokes here and there? Aside from the joke, they also feel the need to play up their air time by talking about statistics and temperatures and the moon and all that crap. As if anyone cares.
I mean, who gives a sh't about the humidity or the high tide or low tide? All I want to know is whether it's going to rain or not, so I can bring an umbrella. I don't want to be the doofus bringing a jacket on a bright and sunny day. That's happened one too many times already. Sometimes I wish there were an app that would give me the forecast straight up... Oh, wait, I forget, there already is one!
Unfortunately, it's only for BlackBerry users. The Last Weather app gives you a no bullsh't, no frills assessment of the day's weather so you can tap, exit, and be on your way. It's simple, it's neat, and it's also f'cking hilarious. It was created by Marco van Hylckama Vlieg and it's open source, so here's to hoping someone's going to bring it to iOS and Android soon.
