Bloodborne beat my ass into the ground time and again, but I just kept coming back to it. I'm not a Souls sort of guy, generally, but this one is a PS4 highlight for a reason. It had that creepy-ass, out-of-Tim-Burton's-nightmares sort of vibe, deep and rewarding gameplay, and offered a damn good challenge in this tutorial-happy world.
This is as close as the system's got to a killer app so far, I'd say, and made all kinds of Best Games of 2015 lists. Still, Ego-friends, let's not forget the main draw: the weapons are ridiculous, awesome and ridiculously awesome.
As players will know, your character arms themselves with a pistol and a funky morphing sword-thing. Said thing took two different forms you could switch between, both having very different uses. That sword that morphed into a hammer was brilliantly Japanese, but the classic Bloodborne weapon is the Saw Cleaver.
Our buddies at Man At Arms made one of these bad boys in real life, and they did a sweet job with it. What with all the metalwork, power hammers, blowtorches and questionable beards going on, there's almost too much testosterone in the below video, but I think you guys can handle it.
Check it out, if just for the demonstration of the power of the finished piece. Goddamn this thing's destructive.
