‘Black Ops III’ New DLC Trailer Brings the Hype as Only Call of Duty Can

Call of Duty, it's safe to say, isn't short on the ol' cashtacular. This giant of the gaming world strides across the FPS genre like a colossus, crushing its feeble competition under its mighty iron fist of fame and victory. Or, y'know, something.

Maybe I'm overselling this a bit. But the point is that these guys can afford to go big, really damn big, when it comes to PR and the hype machine. Live action trailers featuring celebrities are nothing new for the series; remember Codnapped? Where players were supposed to stage their own kidnappings just so they could get their Call of Duty on in peace?

Since then, we've taken that idea a lil' further with the whole ‘Replacer' thing. While you're playing, the Replacer goes to work for you, filling in for you during all the tedious non-gaming responsibilities that lives seem to consist of. Now, Black Ops III's first big expansion, Awakening, is on the way, and the Replacer's back to give you some alone time with it.

In typical series style, the trailer for Awakening is big, brash and freaking ridiculous. Check it out, as the Replacer shows his mastery of every and any situation. This guy's totally qualified to replace you. There's also an ogle at the new maps and such in the expansion, which hits next week.
