We've all been there. Sometimes, you get a lil' too desperate, a bit too needy. One day, you're a badass renegade mothereffer who fears nothing and no-one, and the next she's dragging you along the sidewalk on your belly because you've got both her ankles in a death grip and you're shrieking DON'T LEAVE ME! DON'T YOU GODDAMN DARE LEAVE ME!
But enough of my personal life. We're talking about Destiny.
The sci-fi shooter reeks of that same desperation, clawing at players with all its frantic attempts to keep them interested. Said attempts are getting a little half-assed now, as with this past weekend's A New Year Rises event. From the name, I was expecting something awesome and dramatic, possibly involving Batman. This, I did not get.
If you missed it, here's how it went down. All you had to do was log in and complete an activity (a match of any sort, really) between January 8 and 10. Coins and motes were on offer for doing so, as was a special emblem. The latter will be delivered from tomorrow to those who took part.
And that's all she wrote. Not the most exciting of ‘events,' but it was something. Something pretty shit, granted, but something.
