GAMING

Gamers have always been a weirdly weird, masochistic bunch. Whenever an impossible-sounding trophy/achievement hits a game, you can bet that we’ll bust our butts to accomplish it. The more of an ass-pain the challenge, the more it spurs us on. There’s probably a disturbing hardcore S&M root to all of this, which I don’t want to go into really.
If a game doesn’t already have enough ridiculous challenge in there, what do we do? Change the rules, make it as difficult and/or batshit for ourselves as possible, just because we can. That's what we do.
A good way to do this is to mix and match the many nutty controllers we’ve seen over the year. From dance mats to Mario Kart wheels, from balance boards to bongos, we’ve seen all kinds of specialized controllers. They’d all be freaking awful ways to play anything other than the intended game.
So hey, said Rudeism, let’s play games totally the wrong damn way just for the sake of it. This guy was last seen getting a World of Warcraft character to level 100 using a dance pad. His next trick? Getting his Rocket League on using a Guitar Hero guitar.
The answer to your question? I’ve no idea, but he’s having fun. Leave him alone. Damn, people these days are so judgmental.
