GAMING

Gaming, you’d think, would unite us. One big nerdly brotherhood, brought together by our love for Resident Evil, Call of Duty, Pokémon Go, Overwatch or whatever it happens to be. We could all meet at huge conventions, like Woodstock sans the hippies, and embrace each other as Ebony and Ivory plays in the background.
There’s just one flaw in that plan: It’d require us all not to be raging assholes to each other. And if there’s one thing we seem to love, it’s being raging assholes to each other. PC gamers, the self-proclaimed ‘master race,’ look down on console gamers like they’re stray rabid dogs that just shat on their shoes. So what the hell are they going to make of PlayStation Now?
This subscription service will allow players to stream 300+ PS3 games to their PC, which is a fair amount of titles any way you slice it. The app will be compatible with an upcoming wireless receiver, for PS4 controller purposes, but we’re stuck using a USB workaround for now.
That’s ‘now’ in the ‘coming soon’ sense, because the app isn’t quite ready for the US yet. PS Now hits the UK, Netherlands and Belgium later today, with the rest of the world still waiting on release dates. In the interim, hit Kotaku for a full list of compatible titles, so you can judge for yourself whether this is something to be assed about.
