If you are like me you are sick to death of the election. I have my preference but I just want the damn thing to be over. Every election cycle is a horrible slog through the worst of humanity, but this time around it's been particularly painful. The truth is that both candidates represent two parties that are largely out of touch with most Americans. But so far no successful third party has emerged to give them a run for their money. In the little Scandinavian country of Iceland, best known for Bjork and eating rotten shark, they have a new political party that is giving the more established parties a serious challenge. It is called the Radical Pirate Party and yes their symbol is a Jolly Rodger flag. They are headed by Birgitta Jonsdottir and are sort of a hacktivist political party. They have become extremely popular and currently lead in the polls.

I think this is a good idea, but instead of concentrating on all that hacker Wikileaks type stuff, the American Pirate Party should be like real pirates. A flagon of rum in every hand and plunder you can keep tax free. Capital punishment would involve walking the plank and congressional gridlock would be solved by a duel instead of a filibuster. It's time to send our current political system down to Davy Jones' locker.
