Terminator 2: Judgment Day is returning to theaters this August in 3D, and this new trailer features the film's director James Cameron making the case for his 3D conversion of the film. Cameron is well known as the godfather of modern 3D cinema and his post-conversion efforts on his 1997 blockbuster Titanic paid off handsomely with one of the best post-converted 3D experiences of the decade.
Now he's turning his attention to an even better film—some might say one of the best action films of the 90s—and giving folks who were too young to experience T2 in theaters the first time around the chance to rectify that. Honestly, even without the promise of a top notch 3D conversion, it would be worth shelling out the money to see this flick on the big screen one more time. It's undeniably one of the best genre films ever made, and one of the few sequels that outdoes the original in almost every sense of the word.
Even if you're not a fan of James Cameron and his brutal filmmaking techniques, hearing his passion as he talks about one of his best films should be enough to convince you to pony up the extra three bucks to see this in 3D. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D hits theaters on August 25.
