Here are some of the issues and questions readers seem to be having with the blog. So, in efforts to stem the onslaught of support emails, I will endeavour to answer you concerns here.
I can't see any pictures
Updated Answer: For some stupid reason (that I cannot yet determine), Norton Internet Security does not play nice with Egotastic! Disabling NIS should bring back the pictures. If your worried about keeping your computer free of viruses, spyware, and other Internet crap, here are my suggestions:
1. Anti-Virus: Use a stand-alone virus software. AVG makes a very good one that is also free.
2. Spyware: Protect your system from spyware with these tools (all free): Microsoft Defender, SpyBot Search and Destroy, SpywareBlaster.
3. Firewall: If you are using Windows XP, turn on the Windows Firewall. You don't need anything more than that.
4. Router: A hardware router is one of the best pieces of equipment you can buy to keep your system safe. Routers keep hackers and bots from spying on your system because they do not allow unrequested data into your system. They do not block viruses and spyware. But they do keep out intruders looking for exposed systems.
Original Answer: This problem is most probably caused by your firewall software. Please make sure that whatever firewall software you use is not blocking www.egotastic.com and media.egotastic.com. You can usually set this in the "preferences" of "settings" area of the firewall program. It may also be useful to set www.egotastic.com as a "trusted" site. The video is not playing
The blog world moves quickly, and as such, sometimes video and audio files are moved, lost, deleted, restricted, etc... While we do our best to maintain an accurate library of video files, sometimes it is beyond our control. It could also be that you are missing the appropriate player program or codec software to display the video correctly. After the Jump - What the hell is it!?
The term "after the jump" is a phrase used by us clever bloggers to be pretentious, and annoying. It simply means that the entire post is not displayed on the main page, or category pages, and the rest of the article can be reached by clicking the "continue reading..." link. Obviously, there is no actual jump on the article page itself.
