I Love Avril Lavigne and her Cannes

01:18 AM, Filed under: Home \ Celebrities \ William Shatner

Avril Lavigne Pictures from Cannes
So I know I don't need a reason to post pictures of hot girls on this blog, but I like to inform, as well as entertain, or some bullshit like that. At any rate, there was no way I would miss posting these pictures of Avril Lavigne looking amazing at the Cannes Film festival, but in my search for some relevant story to tie them to, I found this one particular gem of a video.

And what is in this video you ask? Why none other than Avril Lavigne and William Shatner interviewing each other. Yes, the almighty Bill Shatner and Avril Lavigne sit down for a lengthy interview where they discuss, among other things, working on Over the Hedge, Avril's giant diamond engagement ring, and a shared Canadian citizenship.

You know, I think this just might be one of the best days of my life. Avril and Shatner in one place. Does it get any better than that? Well, the pictures of Avril Lavigne looking crazy sexy sure do help...

The Continuing Adventures of William Shatner's Kidney Stone

10:02 AM, Filed under: Home \ Celebrities \ William Shatner

Two months ago, Egotastic! reported that William Shatner planned to sell his kidney stone on eBay to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. An odd way to go about it, sure, especially when you're a freaking millionaire like Shatner, but a fun way none the less.

Well, Shatner made good on his idea, and recently sold said kidney stone to GoldenPalace.com, saying:

This takes organ donors to a new height, to a new low, maybe. How much is a piece of me worth?

Well, about $25,000 actually. That's what GoldenPalace.com paid to add Shatner's calcium build-up, and the surgical stent and string used to permit passage of the stone to their collection of oddities which includes a cheese sandwich said to contain the image of the Virgin Mary. Shatner also added:

It's so big, you'd want to wear it on your finger. If you subjected it to extreme heat, it might turn out to be a diamond.

Well, I think not, but you go ahead and keep thinking that, Bill.

William Shatner Kidney Stone on eBay

03:03 AM, Filed under: Home \ Celebrities \ William Shatner

william-shatner-kidney-stone.jpgOh yes, that's right. William Shatner has requested that his doctors return a kidney stone he passed last month so that he can sell it on eBay. Claiming it would be the "ultimate piece of Star Trek memorabilia," Shatner says he would donate the money raised by the auction to charity.

In reality, it was Jimmy Kimmel's idea, but who cares. Shatner is crazy, and that's why we love him! (Female First via Best Week Ever)

William Shatner Wants to Save Star Trek

10:41 AM, Filed under: Home \ Celebrities \ William Shatner

kirk.jpgWilliam Shatner (aka The Man) thinks he can bring back the glory days of the Star Trek franchise. The former centerpiece of the sci-fi universe said he's writing some new novels that pre-date the original series by a decade or two.

I'm writing a couple of books on the adolescent Captain Kirk/Spock thing as a prequel. It's also an idea for CBS to use as the next series of Star Trek.

Yes, that's right, Kirk and Spock as teenagers. What's this going to be about, their wacky adventures trying to meet girls? And didn't Kirk grow up in Iowa (yes, I've seen Star Trek IV a few times)? How's this going to work? Every week Kirk convinces Spock to steal his dad's spaceship for a weekend joyride? It could be like Ferris Bueller in space. Actually, that would rock.

Spock: "Jim, Ambassador Sarek is going to kill me if you scratch is shuttlecraft."

Kirk: "We'll just fly around the sun at Warp speed, and it'll be like we never left."

Here are my casting suggestions:

chris-pratt.jpgjustin-long.jpgAs "Captain" Kirk (Oh yeah, he wouldn't even be Captain yet!): Chris Pratt from Everwood. Just cocky and dumb enough to pull it off.

As Spock: Justin Long (Ed, Dodgeball) trying to reconcile his vulcan side with his human side, and those new found urges toward the opposite sex.
