Page Six is reporting that Reese Witherspoon is furious at Chanel since she believed the dress she wore to the Golden Globes was vintage, and a unique piece. It turns out, however, that the dress was only three years old (hardly vintage by any standards), and was obviously worn by Kirsten Dunst in 2003, to a Golden Globes party no less.
It doesn't sound possible, but Chanel managed to turn Reese Witherspoon into a fashion victim at the Golden Globes.
Witherspoon, who won Best Actress for "Walk the Line," wore a white-and-silver "vintage" Chanel dress - only to find out it was a mere 3 years old and that Kirsten Dunst wore the same frock to Globes after-parties back in 2003. Whoops!
Ryder said, "Reese was told the dress was vintage. It was not. I'm not angry - just a little disappointed, but the big deal is Reese won the Golden Globe."
I've got to say, that's some funny stuff. Wearing the same dress as someone else in Hollywood is just about the worst thing an actress can do. I've seen it happen a few times before, but it never gets old. This one is especially great, because the people at Chanel had to know.
