Mischa Barton Goes Back to School

Normally, in the normal world, where things are normal, you go to school first, learn about what you want to do, then you get a job doing that thing you want to do. That's the normal way of things.

In Hollywood, things are not normal. In Hollywood, first you get pretty, then you get a job, then you get drugs, then you go to rehab, then you go to school. And according to Us Weekly, that's just what Mischa Barton has done. Well, I don't know about the drugs and rehab thing, but she is going back to acting school. Though having started her acting career at about 14-years-old, I'm not sure she had ever gone in the first place.

Mischa Barton, 20, will be spending this month honing her skills at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Blame Richard Attenborough, her director from the upcoming Closing the Ring, says a source. "He [said] if she wanted to take her acting to the next level, this was what she needed to do." Her rep confirms to Us, "She's visiting family and is taking a couple classes."

Of course, that "next level" they're talking about is the first level in Mischa's case, because if you've ever seen her "work," you know she's never had an acting lesson in her life, besides "be pretty." The only question I have is whether they teach how not to look like a deer in the headlights at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. I'm sure they do, but that's probably in the second year.
